Today, my firstborn turns 7. SEVEN.

I can’t believe how fast the last 7 years have gone!
It seems like only yesterday we were bringing our little baby home, wondering if we would really be able to do this parenting thing.
It seems like only yesterday our little guy was cutting his first teeth, trying solids for the first time, learning to crawl.

Now, my little boy is growing up.
He reads chapter books. In his head.
He plays soccer and does Athletics.
He is learning the drums.
He has fantastic friends.
He has an active social life.
He writes stories.
He draws endless pictures.
He is smart.
He is sensitive and kind.
He is loving.
He is MINE.

I thought I would do a quick recap of the last 7 years, in pictures. Enjoy!

Ethan Jakob … I love you more than words can express, and I am so infinitely proud of you.
Happy Birthday, little guy!

  1. Aw, he is gorgeous, Hannah, and his personality just shines through in all the photos here.

    Happy big seventh birthday, Ethan! :) :) :) :)

  2. How crazy that he’s 7?!?!? It blows my mind how much things have changed and how fast it’s gone! The first pic he looks like Tyler. It’s funny cause they don’t much look the same but in that pic you can see it😉 Hope he had a fabulous time yesterday!

  3. You have such a precious boy! Actually, you have a wonderful family! I’m here in Brazil (yes, I’m Brazilian) reading your posts and savoring your nice writing and fantastic scraps! The best thing about us is that we share the same faith in Jesus!
    Mays God bless you all!

  4. Wow what a photogenic child!!!
I did wish him best wishes over on Facebook but had to belatedly visit here…
    NICE pics Hannah…
    ((hugs))to both…:)

  5. Happy birthday (belated) Ethan.

Isn’t amazing how they grow up so fast, Hannah? Z turned 7 in May and I was looking at him last night, and thought he looked so mannish…no longer any of those boyish features. Makes me sad.

  6. Awwww, such adorable photos! They grow so fast though. Thank goodness for these pictures to treasure as he grows and changes and makes more memories. Happy (late, sorry) birthday to Ethan.
