Tyler’s Favourites

DSCN5254

When the boys were younger, I listed 20 things about each of them. I then scrapbooked the lists.

That was almost 4 years ago, so I thought it was about time I did it again. Only this time, I decided to interview the boys and document the answers in their own words.

So here are Tyler’s Favourites. Today. 22 July 2009. Age 4 (nearly 5).

Foods: chocolate, lollies, bananas, kiwifruit, raw carrot, broccoli, ice cream
Dinners: meatballs, scrambled eggs and bacon
Drink: juice
Movies: Shrek, The Iron Giant, The Bee Movie
TV Shows: Transformers:Animated, SpongeBob SquarePants, America’s Funniest Home Videos
Book: Batman
Games: Memory, Hide and Seek, Guess Who?
Toys: Iron Man, Action Man, Transformers, Lego
Activities: bike riding, soccer
Colours: yellow, orange, green
Friends: Keenan, Logan, Ollie, Zane

I promise to share the layout when I get around to scrapbooking it. ;-)

** EDITED TO ADD **

No, I wasn’t surprised by any of his answers. They are spot-on. In fact, I would have put very similar answers if I had done it myself, without asking him! ;-)

  1. So did any of that list suprise you Hannah? When we do a similar thing at work, the odd child will say they love something and then Mum will tell us they never eat it ROFL!

    • No, I wasn’t surprised by any of his answers! The child LOVES carrot and brocolli, believe it or not. Both my boys do! ;-)

  2. What a fabulous idea, Hannah! Am going to have to steal it off you, haha.

This will be a great thing for Tyler to look back on himself when he is older. Also a fun thing to show his eventual children.

I see broccoli made it onto the list. Is that raw broccoli and just the stalks?

    • Cooked broccoli, stalks and heads. :-D

  3. what a good idea…. dont you just love what they come up with on these lists…. their little personalities really shine through,,,, I remember asking a child at kgtn once what he liked… and he said his Mum and dad….. and can you guess what was under dislikes???? he’s little brother…. hahahaha

  4. what a neat idea Hannah, mind if I steal it? and I just love that photo of Tyler, he’s got so big and is soooo cute!

  5. Oh that is cute!! and what a great idea do you mind if I borrow and how did you get brocolli to be a fav – please share your secret there :)

    • No secret, Janine! I don’t know why they both like it, they just always have. Neither of them will touch pumpkin or kumara though – go figure! ;-)

  6. Great idea, great list and I look forward to seeing your creativity when you share your layout.

  7. what a great photo! Love his list.

  8. Fabulous idea! Will have to do this some time… How old were they when you wrote the first list??

Looooove that photo to. Just lovely!

    • It was October 2005… so Ethan was 3 1/2, and Tyler had just turned 1. I didn’t interview them that time ;-)

  9. LOVE his answers. He’d get along famously with my boys :)

  10. I have interviewed my kids from time to time, and it is great to look back on! AND my kids both like brocolli too – which is a shame for me, cos I prefer Cauliflower(w.cheese sauce!!!heehee)!!

  11. What great memories these lists will invoke when he sees them later and your layout will only add to the beauty!

  12. Yep – that sounds like Tyler – today!! Are you doing Ethan again?
    xxx mum

  13. He’s so darned cute!

What a great idea, it will be great to have these in the future.

I have tired this too and with opposite results.
