I had my weigh-in tonight, and I had my first gain. Yep, I gained 100g.
Those 4 slices of cake really DID catch up with me!
Although I’m bummed about it, I am not depressed enough to reach for the chocolate. This shows that I am actually learning something! Okay, so I may not be all the way there yet, but I know I am already much better at controlling my emotional eating.
Yes I had a gain, but goshdarnit, I’m determined to find the positive in that!
Besides, I know that if I tighten the reins a little this week, keep an eye on my portion size, and do a bit more exercise, I will have a better result on the scales next week.
The past week has been a bit of a blur, actually. I can barely remember getting through each day, let alone what I ate! I was crazy-busy, and a few crappy things happened. Some stuff I couldn’t control. I also had PMS. Joy!! I didn’t blog much, but I really didn’t have anything decent (or positive) to say. To be honest, I’ve felt pretty “blah”. But considering we have our much-anticipated trip to the snow this coming weekend, I think the smile just might be coming back to my face.
And it feels good.
Okay, four slices of cake my friend is NOT the end of the world, gaining 100gms is so NOT the end of the world either. Moving forward, that will disappear in no time at all and PMS has a whole lot to answer for!!!!
Enjoy your snow trip this weekend. Don’t forget to charge the batteries. Have fun!!!

It makes me smile to think of you guys looking forward to the snow! LOL. Better days are on their way to you. Playing in the snow DOES burn calories and so does laughing and smiling so I think I see a cure for 100g in your near future!

part of the reason I love reading your blog is because you are so sincere and real – that takes courage. I look at life like a road that goes through the mountains – there are high points and dips and valleys and when I find myself in one of those valleys I try to remember that a hill (wonderful high) is coming – hopefully the snow will just that for you!
PS – your weight loss is very inspiring – my mom lost over 100 lbs that past year or so and I know she also had several ups and downs on her way to that – our bodies are interesting that way.

Oh Hannah, your attitude is great, I know you were down a bit about it and it sounds like you had a crappy week. You are allowed! And your journey is just that, a journey complete with peaks and valleys. I am sure next week will be a lovely peak and you have a wonderful trip to look forward to as well!
YAY!
(I have out my pom poms and am cheering you on girl!)

Enjoy the coming weekend Hannah. I think Mrs Frizz summed it up well. The cool thing is you know its not the end of the world and you went straight back on the bandwagon, rathern than spiralling downwards. PMS is crappy fullstop but look what you achieved this month, compared to others.

You lucky thing heading off for the snow!! And don’t worry about a small gain, sheeze, I’ve not made it to the gym for over a month and am feeling very guilty about it!! I’m hoping to make it there next week and get back into it but you’re doing sooooo well!

Like what Miss Frizz said.
Plus that snow play will be a great exercise! Tramping up mountains and sliding down them has to be good for burning off those cakey grams. Have a lovely time!

You are still going great guns, Hannah!
LOL, 100gm schmams! That’s not even the difference between going to the loo before your meeting or not, hee hee.
Don’t know about you, but I retain fluid the week before my period is due and have noticed it can mean a difference of up to 2kg on the scales. As soon as my period kicks in, the bloating goes and I am 2kg lighter.
Something to think about maybe?

100 g at the same time as having PMS…. nasty! LOL I’d say that you enjoyed the cake slices as you should have, and now you will lose those grams during some snow fighting. I’m hoping to see some of those fun pics now, K?! LOL

I think everyone is blah at the moment. Sometimes you need cake (and I know you will keep on losing – you sound so determined)

Well done, Hannah! I’m so proud of you that you’re sticking with it and doing soooo very well! Do you have any WW recipes that you can share? Is the points system very different from 5 or so years ago, do you know? I have a lot of old WW tools, and was seriously considering doing it again…

That is a very small gain considering all the cake you got to enjoy. I say it is completely worth it to enjoy special occasion foods from time to time. Remember, this is supposed to be setting patterns for your whole life, not just a diet. So you eat a bit extra then exercise more and eat less for a while. Which is just what you did and you lost more weight. Way to stick with it!
