What a weekend!

March 10, 2008

Well, I have just had one of the most fun weekends in ages!

Saturday was spent scrapbooking (and eating chocolate and cheese!) at Debbie’s place. It was wonderful meeting Trace, Michelle, Neen and Angela, and great seeing Debbie and Annelie again.

Neen put this photo up on her blog, so I stole it! She also took a scary amount of video footage on her innocent-looking camera … so I am waiting for that to be plastered all over the internet! Who knows what she captured on there! :-D

L-R: Debbie, Neen, Hannah, Trace, Michelle, Angela.

I had a pretty productive day. Finished my Care 2 Crop album, and handed it back to Debbie. Gosh, it feels good to have made something like that for another family. I loved doing it.

I also finished some layouts for the Scrapbook Essentials Design Team, but I can’t share those until the 15th. I can show you a few sneak peeks though:

After that, I managed to whip upĀ 3 more layouts. It’s the first time I have scrapped for “me” since getting on the Design Team, and I really enjoyed myself. Some of these photos are pretty old and I’ve been wanting to scrap them for ages.

ON A DATE

Journalling reads: Ethan & Mummy had a fun date. Ferry trip and the Hi-5 concert.

BIG SCHOOL BOY

Journalling reads: Ethan, you started school in June 2007. You were in T3 with Gillian Steel, one of the greatest teachers ever! You had 6 months in Year 0/1, and you absolutely thrived. Within a few weeks of starting school, you were reading, writing and had received your first certificate at assembly! I am SO PROUD of how well you are doing, and I’m happy that you love learning so much. You’re my very special “Big School Boy.”

PHOTO FROM HELL

Journalling reads: 15/12/07. Hayley & Dave’s Wedding. Wellington. Can you believe this photo?! Who would have thought that getting a nice family photo would be so difficult? Ethan (who always loves his photo taken) had a fit, and Tyler wouldn’t smile! It was really nice of Beverley to take this photo … we all love it! No, not perfect, but shows what it was like!

Huge thanks must go to Debbie for organising the crop, for the pack of delicious scrapping goodies, and especially for letting me stay the night. And not only did Richard wait on us all day, he was up at 6.30am on Sunday, cooking me pancakes and bacon for breakfast! How’s that for being looked after?

———————————–

They say that while the cat’s away, the mice will play. Pretty true! While I was away, my boys had a camp-out in the back yard. They had a campfire and toasted marshmallows, and slept in the tent. How fun!

Sunday was a Family Day. After church, we decided to take the boys to the pool at the Leisure Centre. They often go on Sunday afternoons for “Sunday Fundays” from 2-5pm. There is a huge inflatable obstacle course that they have up in the big pool, and the boys love it.

After the pool, we decided to surprise the boys by heading to the Luge (we told them we were going for a drive). Tyler was the only one who hadn’t been before. We were all supposed to go a few weekends ago for a friend’s birthday, but it rained, so the Luge component of the party was cancelled. The boys were gutted at the time, but we promised we would go another day. Today was the day! They were both super excited when they realised where we were. As we predicted, Tyler loved it! We all did.

By the time we’d finished ourĀ rides, it was 5.30pm. So we decided to treat the boys to Subway for dinner. They were pretty happy about their day! It’s always nice to do fun things like that as a family, and surprising them was the best part! :-)

It was awesome to have you here on Saturday and so glad that you liked the Cooked breakfast on Sunday morning. We didn’t actually get up till 7am and Richard loved being able to cook and play host.

Your day yesterday sounds really fun!

You have inspired me by the colours to get this month’s kit!

Sounds like an awesome weekend! Loving those sneak peeks – can’t wait to see the real thing, beautiful strong colours. Funny how you managed to scrap that wedding photo – but like you say – that’s how it was. You’ve given me an idea for some of our ‘not so perfect’ family photos.

What a very busy and productive weekend for you all. Love the colours in the sneak peeks and always on the lookout for a new way of doing school photos except we have the black/red theme. Very cool.

I bet the boys were happy!

Man you are a machine, love those layouts you churned out after I left. It was great to meet you, and the others, hope to do it again. I started to finish mine last night, went to do the titles, but got side tracked by my cool machine and had a play, so haven’t finished yet, but will do soon.
